Blockquote Component

What is it?

A blockquote is a horizontal element with a quote.

Elements:

Quote: One-to-two sentence quote, with a maximum of 230 characters.

Citation: When citing a blockquote, you can optionally include any combination of the following details after the speaker's name: their program and graduation year (adding a "G" prefix for graduate students, e.g., Advertising, 24 or Biology, G24), their school or college, and/or their company or workplace title.

How do you use it?

  • Use to highlight impactful quotes from credible sources.
  • Place within content areas to add emphasis.
  • Use short, impactful quotes.
  • Avoid narrow regions where space is limited.

Example:

Syracuse had everything I needed. The rigor of being in classrooms was enlightening to me, and sometimes you need a bit of rigor to get ahead in life.
