Overview
A Stats Card is a card that displays a data point, accompanied by a number and a brief description. Stat Cards are often grouped in twos or fours and displayed as a grid to highlight a set of compelling statistics.
Elements
Section heading: Displays an optional heading. Usually called "Stats and Facts".
Section sub-heading text: Displays an optional content item excerpt summary. Usually not needed with this component
How do you use it?
- Adding the component. This component needs a stats container to work correctly. Drag the stats container from the component list to the page, then drag stats components into the container.
Note: There is also a premade stats pattern available which includes four stats in a container. - How to Select Stats from DataHub
- Open Extensions: In the far-left sidebar (below the page and component selector), click the small puzzle icon.
- Choose Stats: Select Stats from the extension list.
- Assign Stats to Slots: Click a stat slot, then select the stat you wish to place in that area. (Note: Any custom stats you have in DataHub will appear first, followed by general University stats.)
- Complete the Layout: Repeat this process until all slots are filled.
Tips
- To add or remove slots, right-click on a stat slot to Duplicate or Delete it.
- Group related data points together to create a visual impact and reinforce key messages.
- Choose stats that include links to supporting resources when additional context or detail is helpful.
- Use this component in spacious regions avoid placing it in narrow columns or constrained layouts.
